Essence and indicators of achievement of sustainable development of information sphere


The article analyzes the information sphere ability for sustainable development that defines its inherent economic, scientific and technical capacity and its connection with the environment. The sustainable development of the information sphere is supposed to provide the appropriate conditions for sustainable growth of informational production capable of ensuring the interests of present and further generations while guaranteeing information security – a person’s access to information products needed for full-scope development (except cases provided for by national legislation), that is the conditions for assuring completeness, timeliness and accessibility of information should be fulfilled. The sustainable development of the informational sphere is related to meeting defined parameters at the macro level. The informational sphere of Ukraine is influenced by a combination of pull and push factors affecting its development. It is clearly proved that the sustainable development of the information sphere requires elaboration of a state regulation mechanism. The implementation of strategic and tactical decisions in measures of such a mechanism should be based on a set of indicators as well as being in line with the main principles of the public economic policy.
